I've seen so many bad drives over the years that when I see a booting issue like this gets stuck or reboots in regular and safe mode I run a full drive diagnostic usually with SeaTools for DOS before doing anything else.

Anyway, I was hoping someone could list the most common reasons for Windows XP freezing.
I never read about anyone actually fixing the problem so far, so wondering if the memory tests OK, is it usually the CPU or motherboard and time to get another system? I am thinking some intermittent voltage problem and there was no power to case fan 3 pin connection so probably other areas were failing. I have not used AMD before, but they seem to give you the most speed for the buck. There are some great deals for the Labor Day holiday. I have used AMD for over 10yrs in my builds and have been very satisfied.
