Despite its clientele -- mostly made up of families -- this property is relatively quiet and technically sits on the Disney World grounds. Its grounds are relatively small, but include a gazebo area, 4, square feet of meeting space, and a small outdoor pool that stays open late. Technically sitting on the sprawling grounds of Disney World, this Best Western is located on the main thoroughfare that leads to Disney — but traffic is usually surprisingly calm.
Once at the hotel, many attractions are within easy reach; Downtown Disney and numerous restaurants are within walking distance, and the hotel provides a free shuttle to Disney parks like the theme parks, water parks, and downtown area. Several golf courses are also just a short drive away, and the hotel provides ample free parking. Rooms here were updated in and include modern amenities like free Wi-Fi and large flat-screen TVs. Other basics provided are coffeemakers and mini-fridges.
However, decor in standard rooms is relatively bland; picture gold bed runners, wooden accents, and metal outdoor furniture on the balconies. Updating to a suite, however, not only gets you more space -- with a fully-equipped kitchenette and separate living area -- but more contemporary decor with pops of color and pretty art installations like silk screens of outdoor scenes.
Like many resorts in the area, the Best Western focuses on budget-minded families and business travelers, providing value-packing amenities like free Wi-Fi and parking, 4, square feet of meeting space, laundry facilities, a marketplace, and a free shuttle to Disney attractions. The heated outdoor pool with children's pool is a nice perk, but the tiny fitness center is a disappointment. The massive upper-middle-range Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites - Waterpark is one of Orlando's best options for families outside of a theme park.
Its stylish suites, all with kitchens or kitchenettes, are spacious and well designed to sleep families. Even better, there's a huge…. Getting fired near the holidays is quite common in this industry, because people stay with relatives and friends, instead of hotels. Cons There is no job security in this industry. People get laid off annually, when business slows down without warning.
I loved my job, loved my coworkers. Had been there for 9 years. This hotel has really gone down. It needs a makeover and update. The guests were everything. They made coming to work worth it all. I would spend my own money decorating for holidays and buying doggie treats for my guests.
Not be so quick to blame and accuse but maybe put herself in the situation and think how she may of handled situation before accusations and blaming. Help understanding situations happen and sometimes they are out of a persons control. Maybe sit down with a employee and talk and find solutions to make things better. Not giving dirty looks and saying things to hurt feelings making them so uncomfortable. And always feel they are doing things wrong when they are not.
Appreciate employees. Respect coworkers and staff. Treat everyone the way you want to be treated and this Hotel would be amazing. People would want to work here and enjoy it. Pros Coworkers and guests. Jobs at Best Western. Its an horrible place to work at. I totally wouldn't recommend anyone to come here to work. Not worth it at all. The employees all stand around talking about you.
Pros none. Cons none. Good for call center experience but not recommended to stay for a long period of time Reservations Agent Current Employee - Phoenix, AZ - December 27, After the training period, you will be on your own and worn out.
The turnaround for this job is terrible. The incoming calls never stop coming. This increases the chance of making mistakes. Supervisors are helpful to give you good feedback but are very critical of your evaluations and conversion rates. This will also count against your incentives as well. There is not much training provided in handling calls with difficult customers and tolerance has to be pretty high with customers constantly putting their anger directed towards you.
Schedules are somewhat not flexible due to bidding that is based on seniority and not on your personal needs. Pay is decent but can be improved. Pros Benefits Incentive bonus Time off. Cons Shift Bids based on seniority Call flow Break adherence. The job is the best one I've ever had. It pays fairly well, it's good work and I feel appreciated by my managers and the team I work with. However, some major downsides is that when the hotel is slow, so is your income.
During the winter, no one comes in but you are still pressed to go as fast as possible, meaning that your paycheck gets significantly cut despite working about the same amount of days per week. Pros Great managers, great team, fun place to work usually. Cons Hours extremely inconsistent, constant pressure to make room times while also being accurate, poor wages during winter or slow seasons.
Horrible management Nobody every answers the phone when they need to. Horrible communication.. Pros No r. Loved meeting and interacting with Guests. Had great time driving shuttle after serving breakfast. Guests loved the fact that I greeted them at breakfast then driving the wherever they needed or wanted to be.
Cons Your expendable. No pto, no insurance, pay is def not what it should be. Hours are constantly changed or cut without warning. Pros Easy job. Cons No lunch breaks, no benefits, no pto. Breaks sucks. Getting paid bi-weekly sucks. The team work lacks an they don't really help with a work life balance. They don't really help you get your work done if you have to be picking your child up from school bascially its your jon to get your work done an they don't help.
